Drop Shackles?

Hey Everyone,Why do you need the Chevy drop shackles? Do these bolt on or do you have to have them welded on? What else will I need beside the 3in spindles & AAL on 05 Edge? Thanks, Tanker

On a ranger a drop shackle actually lifts the truck. It is longer than the factory shackle

the bolt right in after you removed your stock shackels. for a spindle lift you need AAL and shackle in rear to bring the rear high enough

here is the AAL

here is the shackel

I priced those out when I was living in New Jersey. Maybe the price went down or something. Like I said...its old info I have saved in a text document.

Believe me, shipping to Canada would be a lot more than 10 bucks extra.

More info on drop shackles please! If the drop shackles raise the rear 1.5", do you need to replace the shocks with longer ones do to the longer wheel travel? How about with the AAL's? Is it even worth worrying about?

Yes add a leafs are worth buying they not only raise the rear but they increase the amount of weight you can put in the bed.

I get that you can carry more in the bed with the AAL's, but what does it do the rear axle articulation? Thats why i'm leaning towards the shackles, but what about the shocks? Will I need to replace them after I put the shackles on or is it no big deal?
