66-77 Bronco Axel Swap?
Ok here's what im going to try. I want to upgrade my axels on on my 87 ranger because i have done a complete efi 302/c4 swap and i want the axels to be able to hold the power.
I can get a 69 bronco real cheap and i want to take the 9" out of the rear as well as the transfer case, then buy a dana 44 seperate.
Is there anyone that has done this swap from the older 66-77 bronco's ?
If you have please post i need as much info as possible to see how hard or easy
this swap is going to be.
Thanks

Thanks I no that the 69 has the 30 in the front. What i was going to do for the front is trade the rest of the truck for a 77 dana 44 that has the disk brakes.

69 rear axle will work, it has a dana 30 in front tho.

71-75(maybe 76) = 44 with drums
either 77 alone or 76 and 77 = d44 with disc brakes.
Then 78 became the wider axle.

The stout Dana 44 became the standard Bronco front axle early in the 1971 production year, replacing the weaker Dana 30
