Front end Squeaking noise after Lower Ball joint replaced.
Good Evening folks,
I have a 2004 Ford Ranger 4.0 4x4. Truck now has 234,000 miles and the engine is still running strong. A few weeks ago i had my State Inspection done and the Mechanic said i needed Lower ball joints. After the truck was completed i took it to work and home. Think i drove about 50 miles total. The next day the truck started to make a sqeaking noise from the front end when applying the brakes and would make a creaking noise when i just about come to a stop. I took the truck back to the garage and the mechanic said it may be something with the ABS but he could not diagnose what it was. Now about a week later the squeaking is intermittent but always happening when in motion. The squeaking noise stops when the brakes are applied but then starts up again as you come closer to a complete stop. Last night i pushed the brakes down harder then normal and heard a type of clunk or pop sound. Could it be the Mechanic forgot to tighten up something? I plan on checking the truck out this weekend if the weather would break.
Thanks a bunch
Chad

Took the truck to a local garage this morning. Turns out the drivers side sway bar end link broke. The squeaking noise was the brake hardware rubbing the rotor. All is fine now and fixed at a reasonable cost. The last garage must have bent it im guessing. When i brought the truck back my guess is the mechanic didn't even look at.
