Got a quote for superlift + install

As the title says, I phoned to a local shop here and they quoted me (are you sitting down?) $5200!!!!
I think that's CRAZY!!!!!!
They estimated 12-15 hours labour. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but a body lift should take longer to do than the suspension lift right???? like I was thinking 8 hours tops for the suspension lift...

Anyone know a good place to get a quote for installing a suspension lift in Alberta??
Oh and is there a chance I can order the lift right from superlift or do I have to go through a 3rd party dealer???

your better to order through a shop. they are on crack. for the money, call dixon bros and get the long travel kit. 4K for anything other then a racing setup is dumb. i never understood how they sell them. you gain ZERO ground clearance and they do nothing for you. body lift it!

you only gain ground clearance with bigger tires. body lift or suspension lift makes room for bigger tires.

This. You want ground clearance, get unimog axles. You only have as much clearance as your differential.

If I have to choose between BL and SL, at least the SL gives you more travel then a BL.

I didn't think that the super lift would give you anymore suspension travel. It just lowers the mounting point of the A-arms with drop brackets doesn't it?

Wow, 15 hours to install a bolt in lift kit with a full shop and vehicle lift, are you kidding me?

Sounds like you need to shop around! What's the best price you can find on the lift itself? I'm sure you can find someone to give you a hand doing the job... it doesn't really require any special tools. Not that difficult either, just takes time!

well wen i bought my sl it cost me $2700 including tax and $500 for the superlift shaft. it took the shop more than 8 hours to install it but they only charged me for the 8 hours labor. i dont know how it took that long to put it in the truck because i took it out in 45 min (not exaggerating) and the member on here i sold it to installed it the same night in less than 8 hours. but 15 hours seems kinda insane, but the first shop that quoted me for the sl was rite in that $6000 range to. keep shoping around. national 4WD in alberta is where i would look. the national 4WD store in bc is the shop who did my superlift

Install it your self. I just installed one on my truck three weeks ago. It's pretty easy to do.

It's already bodylifted if you would read my sig....

I'll check out national 4WD and see what they'd quote me. And I have a cousin who could help me but he doesn't have a hoist or anything which would be really helpful

You don't need a hoist, I didn't. 4 jack stands, jack, hand tools, hammer, torque wrench, and a snip is all I used. Lol

Okay next question.... With a BL and SL installed 1) if I run 35's, will I need to regear for sure?
2) how hard is it gonna be to sell the darn thing with double lifted and 35's on it???? I'm planning to keep it for another 4-5 years

I would regear for sure. I have 4.10's right now and I want to change them already, but I am going to wait and see if I body lift it. If i do, I am going to go with 4.88.

Shipped to my door $2097.43 with the driveshaft

Is that a pretty fair price? I also found a discount code online for 5% off: CC5OFF
but it took away the 10% reduction from the parts that the sale applied to it... I wonder if I could phone them and get them to apply the further 5% discount as well...

4:10's and 35's is ok on the street but not good on super steep hills or offroad.. I would re-gear to at least 4.56

No suspension travel is gained despite the advertisement, you can push extra travel with coilovers but not much unless you got aftermarket upper control arms and then stock cv's will come apart haha

Likely would be tough... may take a while to find the right buyer. I'm having a tough time selling mine with just a Superlift and 33's!
