Torsion bars

I am thinking of just cranking my torsion bars on my 99 ranger xlt 3.0l manual trans 4x4. Is this a better option than forking out the money for a body lift? Is it an easy task to do?

Easy yes. Cheap Yes. Make sure you get it aligned after you crank. a Camber kit may be needed.

It will help you level the truck out.

It will enable you to fit larger than stock tires. however you can go with bigger tires if you go with a Body lift

You have I-beam or Twin Traction beam suspension, not A-arm. Completely different setup, with coil springs.

Also, T-bar crank applies only to front suspension. Without seeing a picture of what your rear suspension setup looks like (shackles, leafs, blocks, axle etc) I cannot tell you what to do to lift the rear best.

I used this to help me. Crank Your Ford Ranger Torsion Bars. It's pretty simple once you look under the truck, there's one bolt on each side. Just jack the truck up and turn these as far as you need to. I had to crank mine all the way to get it level with the rear.
