Nope, just pick out your shocks and order the stock size 4x4 shocks. I have the Autozone Gabriel Pro Guards but I was on a budget at the time.

Most here will recommend either Monroe Sensashocks or what ever they are called and of course everyone's wet shock dream Bilsteins hahaha. KYBs are some other brands aren't bad either.

Kybs aren't to bad just put a set on mine. If you get kybs make sure to get new hardware for the bottom mounts. The hardware that comes with it isn't the best.

Just installed Edlebrock IAS shocks, better handling without a harsh ride

i think the reflex is just a strut. correct me if im wrong. I ran cheap cheap pepboys shocks like 10$ each ones in the back for a week till i got paid. stock rotted out pretty bad do i threw those on. ended up bending one. Now i run Sensa Tracs. Love them at times hate them at times to.

X2 on the sensatracks (Monroe or NAPA, same shock)..About $45 each. Better ride than I expected for the money.

supposedly the reflex's are a step up from the sensa's (that's the impression the guy at sears gave me, have wanted $90 each) and rockauto had em for like $35 , $2more than the sensa's. They're definitely not struts tho. struts are quite different.

cut and pasted from somewhere:

Struts and shocks are very similar in function, but very different in design. The job of both is to control excessive spring motion; however, struts are also a structural component of the suspension. Struts can take the place of two or three conventional suspension components and are often used as a pivot point for steering and to adjust the position of the wheels for alignment purposes. (Adjusting camber right at the pillowball mounts).

this is what i got. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=294853

Apparently it's got an inch more travel on the piston than the sensa's, don't know how that plays out to road feel.

The shocks on the truck right now look about as old as the truck, it's possible they're ORIGINAL. 135k. Anything will be an improvement!

yeah lucas those reflex's are sweet, just did the front yesterday and i'll put the rears in over the weekend. The ride is enormously better than the 135k motorcrafts, they wouldnt even open up again once they came out of the truck! But FYI, if you order any 4 monroe shocks right now they are buy 3 get 1 free, i think it's this week only, so jump on it. rockauto.com has great prices, less than half of what sears wanted and a better selection than the big chain stores, so i highly recommend looking there. Reflexes and sensa tracs are a few dollars apart, i know a lot of people here swear by the sensas, but from the initial ride quality id say the reflexes are a good choice too.

Monroe Reflex

I just ordered a set for my 03 Ranger today and the buy 3, get 1 free special is still on... I also have Monroe Reflex on my 04 F-150 Lariat 4X4 and love them. I already took them in for free replacements at NAPA where I bought the ones for the f-150. Free lifetime replacements...
