you can flip the rear axle from spring over to spring under. get an explorer axle and it will bolt right in and you will get around 4 inches of drop

Dude. Really? You can't tell he's already flipped?

And to the OP, you'll need to notch the frame, if you haven't already, but you can remove the second leaf from the rear spring pack, and that should net you about 2" more, plus a smoother ride.
Belltech sells "lowering hangers" for the front hanger as well. I believe they do about the same as flipping the hangers, but I don't know of anybody that has done it.

yah im confused to- if you flipped your hangers, you can still go for a springunder axle kit and that will lower it the width of the axle, and from there just notch the frame and add lowering blocks if you want to get low for cheap. I got Western chassis hangers that lower my rear of the 88 around 3"

Look at his avatar. He's appears to be 5/7. You don't get that low with just a shackle flip.

he does look low, but if it the axle is flipped i would still throw a block in there than remove a leaf- just my opinion though

Put a flip kit on there for another 5" to get a total of 7", or just run the flip kit for 5".

the top of the leaf wont hit the bottum of the bed?....because right now i got about and 1" of room between the top of the flipped hanger and the bottom of the bed.

It won't move the leaf, just the axle to on top of the leaf.

And my bad, but it sure does look low in the av pic.

ill try to post a pic of the current stance of my truck...after only flipping the rear hangers....but i do have bigger tires in the back...the front tires are: 225/70R15..and theback are 225/75R15...so that does make a little diff. in hight

If you want to go lower put a flip kit on and un-flip your shackles. It should give you a 5" drop, or 3-4" if you use a lift shackle instead of a stock shackle
