Torsion Bar crank affects replacment shock options?
Hi guys,
Bout to swap my OEM shocks with some bilstien or ranchos and was wondering if cranking the torsion bars will make me have to get longer/bigger shocks in the front... so far im looking at these (http://www.allshocks.com/bilstein/ht...ear=%271999%27 ) But if i want to crank my torsion bars in the near future will these oem replacments not be suffcient length/ travel and such. Also is whos running these? Do you like them!? Thanks!

Your shock is also your limit strap. Using a longer than stock one will increase your down travel, and probably improve your ride, but it will also wear out your front components quicker. btw, I just installed KYB gas-a-justs, which are imo comparable to the yellow bilstiens but a lot cheaper.

I had those Bilsteins in my ranger for many hard years and they were great, they are now on my buddies 2011 4x4 lol

this^^^... is not right. my t-bars have been maxed for over two years now. never had a shock leak or break or have any bad effects from cranking. i can still jack up the front of my truck and have the shocks droop another couple inches. when cranking my t-bars i got about 1 1/2" of lift at the front of my truck measured at the wheel wells. at the location of the shock mount i might have lifted it 1/2". MAYBE.
