pro comp shocks

Ok so last week i installed my 1.5 in lift coils on my 94 ranger and ordered procomp es9000 shocks that allow up to 2.5 in of lift and they came today so i opened them and they are already fully extended out of the box and i cant get them to fit. anybody have this problem or have a solution?

I used a ratchet strap to compress one of my shocks when I let it extend (unfortunately).

I ended up leaving the ratchet strap on until I installed it and just cut it off after, ohh well.

dont worry about those metal sleves, the shocks dont go against anything, the rubber bushings go IN the shock loop, they shouldve came with new bushings too
