Only instead of a slit it put a dent the size of a quarter in my bed.. I had just replaced the other side which was hanging and I guess it's time for this side too.

the new one I had just replaced is on the right and the rotten one that's giving me problems is on the left..
When you had the bed off you should have done both. Also if it was me I would get about 4-5 cans of rubberized spray and coat your frame. It will help with the rust.
