tire sizes

i think there should be a sticky with pictures w/ different tire sizes, but i was wondering how you guys would think these, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....1=yes&place=18, would look on a stock 2006 ranger sport. im not sure if the 85 is pushing it..

keep into consideration i'm going to be getting some spindle lifts later on.

Actually that tire is about the same size as a 32/11.5/15 assuming you are going 285/75/16? I dunno are ranger sports the same height as the edge's aka 4wd height? Other wise you would have alot of rubbing. 31s would fit on a 2wd with some rubbing. 32s i wouldnt even try.

Looks like you are thinking 235/85-16"?
Should be fine if you have 4x4.
I have Cooper 10.50 x 32 on stock wheels, no problem

Actually, i just lifted my 04 3 inches, and the 265's are perfect. There is no way you are going to get 285's under your stock ranger. You wont even fit 265's. No way. I've got the BFG All Terrains as well.

ok first off i am not sure why you want to get 235/85R16s. They are going to be far too skinny and look bad IMO. Why not go with some 265/75R16s or 275/70R16s?

Also 285/75R16s will fit on a stock EDGE(Sport) and 4x4s BUT you will likely have to trim your valance and possibly flares, and if you go off-roading I would never recommend getting this size because you will have ZERO flex/travel room.

235/85R16= 31.7x9.25
265/70R16= 31.6x10.4
275/75R16= 31.1x10.8
285/75R16= 32.8x11.2

Persoanlly i love my 275/70R16 BFGs and am actually on my second set of them. Perfect height and width and they cost me $627 balanced mounted and installed.

thanks, i didnt know really how the sizes compared so thats why i posted.

i think im going to go with 31x10.5x16 BFG T/A's... yes i know most of you are T/A haters and MT lovers, but i live in a very dry area and there is NO mud + i do a lot of normal road driving. I wanted to do a camburg entry level lift, but i think i dont need it, so im just gunna do a fabtek spindle lift.

will deaver springs in the back level it out?

tirerack.com says if i go for the 265/70R16 BFG a/t's (or 275/70R16) its gunna be $168/ tire.... which seems like a lot.

what is a good price for these tires?

Well those arent the best of prices, but 16" tires suck. If you wanted new rims it would be a good choice to go to some 15s because you can get a set of 32x11.5R15 BFGs for in the $400s.

What i did was search around on every single tire website and found the best deal on a set. I then called every single tire shop around here to get them to price match and incluse installation/balancing/etc.

alright, i actually wanted 15's but i thought it would be too expensive to get new rims and stuff, but if the tires are that much cheaper, sounds good.

what other sites are good for tire pricing?

oh yeah, sry about posting this in the susp. thread and not tires thread.... could a mod move this?

wouldn't the 15's lower the truck? I do simple off roadings and deep snow so I would want to keep the truck at stock height or maybe inch or 2 higher. I'm also looking for tires, see my post in tires/wheels.

oh, 2001 Ranger 4x4XLT

Lower>!>?!?!??!?! if you get 32" tires and you have stock 26... and get 15" wheels means you have 1" more side wall then 16" with 32's... this more meet... how in hell would it lower it
