actual amount of lift

I want to put a leveling kit into 94 2wd ranger and the leveling kit i got the blocks measure 2in. The question i got is on one of these ranger forums i read that if you take the height of the block and multiple it by 1.5 and that would give you the actual lift amount. I also read that if you lift a 2wd drive more then 2.5in you won't be able to get the tires realigned without drop down brackets. If i install the leveling kit will i still be able to get the tires back in spec. Any help would be greatly appraciated. thanks

2in x 1.5= 3in = a problem

lol no... 2" block is just that 2" of lift... same thing i have on mine.. yes will need an alignment.. a 2-1/4 cam block i believe. also you need longer shocks

Ok, for starters I'm going to guess that you are talking about coil spacers, correct? Block go either under the leaf springs, in the garbage, or in the childs toy box. Now, if they are coil spacers then you are correct in the 1.5x lifting equation. As for the alignment, 2wd ranger are able to be lifted 2.5" and still have the possibility of being aligned while 4wd are only alignable up to 2" Whether or not you will be able to get the camber back in spec. depends on what degree bushing are being used currently. Where did you get the spacers? But I believe you will be able to get it aligned, but the shop can't be a bunch of morons, preferably an offroad shop or atleast one not totally ignorant to Ranger suspensions.

It might be that the equation is only for the TTB and not the TIB like you and I have, but I am confident that you will be alignable after installing the spacers.

yep gives 2" of lift... idk what you and "Dangeranger3" about this 1.5"x thing... but i have installed what 4-5 of these its always the same amount of lift as you see the length of the block...

personally to do it all over again i would only recommended lift coils way easier to install and its all coil then also.. ditches saggy old coils...

Just install them and measure the net lift. Its only like 2 hours depending on how bad the rust is. If "Redneckstone" says it always nets the same height for him, that should be enough to go on. I was under the impression that TTB rangers had something wierd about lifting them that netted more lift, but I am unable to find that info at the moment. I do not have first hand experience with spacers, as I used f150 springs. I know I have read in at least 2 places online that it lifts more but I can't produce the sources. Also, it is the internet.... theres more than just truth on here.

I knew "Redneckstone" was going to say something after I posted my reply, only to see he had replied first and we had conflicting ideas. But first hand experience is just that, so good luck with you install muddin'.

only way i could see it being higher is the massive amount of camber raising the truck up... after mine was aligned it was only 2" higher exactly.. same with a 1997 2wd 4cyl also.. and a 1999 2wd f-250 superduty that we installed the same kind of blocks on.. being those are also I-beam on the 2wd...

with either coils or "blocks" you will need longer shocks. stock shock length isn't long enough personally i had stock shocks on while i was waiting for my skyjackers to come in and ripped apart the shock latterly, rod seperated from the housing...

those daystar blocks are designed to only give the 2 inches of lift, theyre not actually a full 2 inches themselves. With the beam suspensions there is a multiplication factor because the suspension runs as a triangle from the pivot point of the beam out to the frame, then down the spring, then back up the beam so where the knuckle sits is actually out past the end of the triangle so lifting it from a point further up on the beam like where the spring is actually makes the end where the knuckle is spread even further. Its basic geometry.

I got some knock off spacers and the spacers themselves measure 2in. I'm probably going to just buy a name brand spacer like dayster that has more expirence and put the knock offs on my bll seeing as i use it just to play around with.

i was looking at summitracing.com and found these. There about the same price as the spacers. Wouldn't they be better?

Not to threadjack or anything, but with a body lift, does it raise the rear 3 inches over what it is currently at? How big are the stock mounts? I have always been confused at this.

wow you did... make a new thread if you are that confused.. plus this thread had nothing to do with body lifts...

body lifts do just that LIFT THE BODY ... 3" literally goes up 3" all around...does NOTHING to the suspension... just the body..

do yourself a favor and dont use the spacers. They will split literally in half in a years time. The knock offs and the daystars. Just get coils

granted i dont advocate telling people to get front leveling blocks but wow is your info so wrong unless you had some defective one's... installed mine over 3.5 years ago and look the same as when i put them in no cracking.. also no cracking on the set i put in 2 years ago on another ranger i know of.. also a f-250 2wd 1999 with them with a diesel in it that isnt any way shape or form light and that never cracked...

buying them first and installing them yourself will save a lot of money over having a shop charge you for their bushings and the labor cost of them putting them in.
