Add-a-leafs and blocks?

What all do I need to make the install go smooth as possible. I am getting 2" add-a-leafs and 3" blocks. I am only going to run these for a little while till I can afford deaver springs.

Hey! I'm in your signature! haha

Andy blocks and AALs aren't too tough. Did your AALs come with a longer center bolt? Really all you need are basic hand tools and a jack and jackstands. put the frame as high up as you can, take off the wheels, put the jack under the rear diff, unbolt the u-bolts, and drop the axle down. Then undo the leaves, put the AAL in there, wedge the bolcks in, put the u-bolts on, and then jack it back up and put the wheels back on!

hmmmmm....so what are you doing to the front ?

Like gearhead said, just get it up in the air as high as you can. Long breaker bar or impact might be useful on your U-bolts

I've been running tall blocks and an "added leaf" from a standard ranger pack in my truck for awhile. It's fine IF you have traction bars -- but it's way wambly without them.

I got alot of wrapping in my springs with the lift blocks, but that was only on sand. Even in mud it didnt wrap that much. Do you think it's the locker/LS you have John that made it wrap so much?

35's don't help either, lol. And the 4.56 ratio. Mud doesn't wrap much because you can't get enough traction -- or at least you don't feel it as much.

But I really notice it on the street, especially if I take off hard up a hill, and REALLY when turning while accelerating up hill. It showed up in certain trail situations also.

I don't know how much impact the LS has, or when it's locked either, but I'm sure it does decrease wheel slip.

The other thing would be one's "sensitivity" to the problem. It could be I just notice or object to it more? Don't know. It could be if you had those blocks in and thought you didn't have much, that if you put the bars on, you might have been surprised by the difference.

If you get the short and long AALs, you are going to have to break the spring pack.

The leafs should be in order from longest to shortest.

Yes exactly. They are longer than stock springs, then arched more to bring the eyes to the right place, and to make them "taller".
