lift..suggestions?

I own a 2001 2wd ranger edge, i know my name is 2002 ranger but i my grandparents who bought the truck for me just sent me the manual..

Anyways, i'm new into offroading, and rangers in general, but i'm planning on purchasing a lift.

http://www.go2rdsi.com/racing/viral.html

there's the link to the lift i've been looking at, it's towards the bottom of the page you'll see the it's a 98-02 3 inch lift. i'm just wondering if that's all i'll be needing, plus what a good size tired would be to run without rubbing, and not killing my gas mileage..any suggestions on good m/t's?

something tells me thats not for the edges see regular 2wd trucks are coil spring and edges are t-bar suspension. different spindles. some of the 2wd edge guys will chime in on where to buy spindles. but what you want is 3.5" front lift spindles and a ADD-A-LEAF and lift shackel for the rear.

then run a 33x12.5x15 on eather 15x8 wheels or 15x10 really doesnt matter

Here is where I bought mine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...mZ220043160900

I am satisfied with it so far. This kit comes with 3 inch lift spindles and a 2 inch block for the rear but you would be better off running a 2 inch add a leaf instead.

Number one that is irrelevent to the topic but for your question no they dont suck offroad why do you think almost every one on this site lifts there truck? Rangers are good offroad vehicles especially with the right amont of work put into them.

Yea that is all you should need I have those same spindles with 4inc blocks in the rear and alot of people dont like to run blocks but I have traction bars to help with axle wrap caused from blocks. But if you get the add a leafs you should be fine. Here are some pics with my lift and 33x12.50x15 maxxis mudders.

This thread was started so a new member could learn a few things about a lift not for you to hijack it with stupid comments. You can start a new thread in OFF TOPIC but I gurantee you will get flammed.

for the rear of the truck lift it with a lift shackels(aka chevy lowering shackels) they lift our trucks found here

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

and Add a leafs

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

blocks are horrible you can leave the stock blocks but just add these in...

if you use the search feature on this thread you will find tons of topics on this if you want more info or just go in the suspension forum and start poking around...

and tell your friend he isnt getting off to a good start and i wouldnt continue it...

i believe i'm running coils only in the front? so i'll probably add new shocks in the rear..

i was thinking of running maxxis bighorn or buckshots. how are yours holding up? or any other suggestions..those just seem to have a decent price, and i haven't found anyone who doesn't like them

Mine are holding up fine and seem to perform well in the mud. You cant beat the price with a stick. Your an 01 edge right bc Im pretty sure you dont have coils someone correct me if im wrong?

i'm not sure what's in the front to be honest with you..but either way stock coils, unless that lift you've shown me comes with new coils, or new shocks all the way around, i've hear stock will wear out pretty quick, plus a bit of a smoother ride would be nice.
