Shouldn't it have 16" rims? I thought all 4x4 sports in 07 came with 10 spokes...?

Is lowering your truck really going to make it handle better? My 2007 handles real well, and has with all 3 different sets of tires I've run. It is never going to be 'plush' or ride like a caddy. Its a torsion bar truck! I think you'd be far better off leaving it at stock height and running good rubber. Michelin ltx at2 very good in snow, good in dirt and really good on pavement.

Good luck anyways!

Hmm i am gonna recommend also maybe an anti sway bar that is aftermarket..

But obviously by lowering he is lowering his center of gravity therefore it wont have as much body roll and will hug the ground better.

Don't you think that by uncranking his tbars he is going to encounter more roll and generally sloppier handling? It's not going to hug the ground it's still going to be pretty high off the ground, we're talking 1-2" of drop. I'm saying that attaining the ride height desired is going to soften up the suspension. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me it's gonna be a regret here in a month or two.

Well, I am no pro so I could be wrong. All I know is that if your higher off the ground you generally handle worse and are higher risk for roll over than a car. I dont know much about T-Bar's I would assume he would notice it but i dont know if it would be that noticeable.

Yeah I don't really _know_ what I'm talking about but that's not going to stop me!

I think if you look at most sporty type or race cars, the ones with low CofG, they're all riding around on stiff suspension without a whole lot of travel. This ranger is going to be loose like a goose with less tension on the bars.

Hmm maybe he can fabricate something or swap suspension on it.. Sway bars could help.. I am not sure.. i mean hmm whatever works right??

D has been working on something for his truck. It's not 4wd but it does have torsion bars.

It should be just fine. The problem is not the drivetrain, it's the suspension.

I thought about lowering my truck a bit and throwing a AWD transfercase instead of the 4wd one. I'd probably have to convert to auto but that's fine.

It seems to me like there's some misplaced subaru love in this thread. Ranger STi ftw!

Well not a burnout but you get the traction. Well I think I would have to go auto so I would have to buy a tranny, controller and t case.

I don't think I'll even attempt this because as everyone says, "If you want to go fast get a car." I'm looking into getting a 2006 GTO.

Not here to start ****, but this seems like an all around bad idea. Your truck is going to roll through the corners like a ****. You're basically lowering the spring rate in the front on an already tall truck ALL while keeping the rear suspension stiff. Your truck is going to ride funny, not to mention, there goes your ability brake well. Just leave it stock ride hieght, get new tires and make sure they are balanced right. If that doesnt fix the problem of a harsh ride (its a 4wd truck, what the hell do you expect?) then I will trade you my all wheel drive Escape for it. Get a smooth ride, good enough ride hieght, and selectable 4wd that does pretty darn good in snow.

i always wondered if anyone ever lowered a 4x4. i think its a plain out stupid idea. i say sell it or trade it for 4x2 if you want a lowered truck. im not a fan of lowered rangers but i know some people wouldnt ever lift a truck either. its all what you like but lowering your 4x4 lower than stock height isnt something worth doing. just my opinion

Nick was working on a coil-over type of drop on his truck. I don't know where he left off with it or how far along he went with it.

ZABeard would know more on Nicks ride.
with the CVs pointing up it wouldnt be much different than if they were pointing down.

also nick's truck is on all 4s and he is able to roll it around, but he has to work on the turbo setup/paint etc which is one of his last priorities because of other work.
