major front ifs problem

heres the scoop, i have a 05 edge, 3" fabtech lift kit on it, and when me and some of my buddies were out fooling around at the local offroad park, i decided it would be cool to jump my truck....lets just say not one of my brighter moments, but anyway, it was a hill about 5 feet high and i hit it going about 45-50 mph, flew over and on the other side there was a rut which my front tires landed in and bounced me back up in the air about 3-4 feet, somehow it still drove itself home, this was about 6-7 months ago and 1400 dollars later(new power steering rack, upper control arms, all ball joints, theres more but too much to list..) and my tires still look like this....

anyone have any advice on what i can do to fix this(sorry, nowone can find the video of the actual jump, but if i find it, ill post it)

Replace the spindle NOW if it's a 4x2. I jumped my truck a while back and 6 months later the drivers side shaft just snapped. I wasn't ready to SAS yet so I had to buy new spindles and repair it. Note: you can only buy them in pairs generally -- I know that's not good news.

It could be just some bent control arms -- but if you are a 4x2 you should for sure remove the wheels, brakes and hubs and do an inspection at the very least.

If it's a 4x4 then I have much less knowledge of the IFS and what might be the problem. Do get it checked out soon -- mine broke at very low speed on a secondary road and there was very little collateral damage. I was very, very blessed. It could have killed me.

You need to wipe off the spindle real well and look for evidence of bending or hairline cracks.

Might not be it and I hope not. But after what I experienced, I thought I'd deliver a strong warning.

Buy some camber adjusters and then have a shop align it, should take care of it.

BTW John is right about replacing the spindles, many times you won't be able to detect a crack upon visual inspection.

I'm less than 100 miles away from you! There is a guy on here from Lubbock, and Camodown just moved to Midland.

I'd love to get a POS truck and jump it a bunch, then light it on fire and party. LOL.

I'll be in Midland Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately it won't be anything fun, my sister is getting married and I have to go.

most likely it's just your alignment cams. But yeah, be safe & check everything also.
