Sohc + Ttb ?

Is this going to work, I read were a first gen ford explorer had clearance issues with the TTB and steering box doing a SOHC swap. And he ended up putting an oilpan off the OHV on.

Do I need to do this? And would a sus. lift help by putting it all further down away from the engine?

Was thier ever an SOHC in a truck with TTB?

you shouldn't have any issues since you are putting the 6" lift on your truck......it is a pretty popular mod to put a SOHC oil pan on a modified OHV since the SOHC oil pan has better girdles in it.....

you won't have any problems....

On a TTB truck a lift doenst change where the crossmember sits, so I dont think a lift would gain you any clearance. But other then that I know a guy on ORR has a 95 or so ranger with a SOHC in it.

it isn't the crossmember that the problem would arise....it is the diff itself.....the TTB diff has a high head on it......a lift will drop it farther away from the lowest part of the engine...

a SOHC oil pan is a popular mod to the OHV that is heavily modified because of the extra girdles in the SOHC oil pan......it is done without any crossmember modifications needing to be done...
