FYI: Roush front sway bars about 2-lbs heavier

...than stock 2002 XLT front sway bars.

I just installed the complete Roush sway bar kit yesterday (rear) and today (front).

The Roush front bars look practically identical to the Ford factory bars. However, after weighing them the Roush fronts are actually 2-lbs. heavier.

After some short drives around the neighborhood, I noticed that the ride feels somewhat more "solid". However, I suppose the most significant ride handling differences would only be noticeable when cornering really fast...

Man...my neck, forearms, and chest are very sore!!

did this the other week and noticed the diffrence right away. the fronts are also thicker compared to the stock XLT.

FYI the roush kit is just an edge sway bar kit. i didn't know this and already had a rear sway bar from jason, so now i have an extra rear sway bar if anybody needs one :D

Did everyone else that installed the rear swaybar find the drivers side nut/bolt that mounts the bar to the frame to be quite hard to get to? I think it took me longer to tighten that one bolt than it did to put the entire front and rest of the rear on. I have noticed quite a diffeence in the faster corners.

Yeah, that one was a pain due to the gas tank. I did that side first, because I wanted to get the hard part out of the way.

I also dropped one of the front sway bar bolts on my head about 4 times. I hope you didn't do the same.

The front went smooth, no more than 5 minutes start to finish. I did have it on the hoist and used air tools.

Cheater

You have a lift and air in your garage, or do you have a place that you can use a stall? There are times I would give my left nut for air tools when working on the truck.

FYI you do not need to lift your truck at all to add the sway bars

It sure does make it A-LOT easier and much quicker though. I'd much rather choose to work standing than on my back on the ground.
