I called a place in Raleigh,NC that puts on lifts and stuff. Its called We Do Trucks. I was asking about the 4" super lift and the RCD lift. The woman said that with all the parts for the superlift, it was going to cost around $3300 plus $975 for labor. I thought that was outragously high. For the RCD lift, the parts were going to be about $2850 plus $850 for labor. She said it would be cheaper for the RCD lift. The funny thing she told me was that with the super lift, i would have to have atleast 5" BS for my rims. I dont think the facts she gave me were right because i no yall are not running 5" BS. What do yall think i should. Any advice.

 

yeah thats all BS... i dont know what back spacing you need but the price for the superlift is 150% higher than it should be

I no i would need a new driveshaft, but the woman also said i would definately need new shocks, new rotors. She said none of that came with the lift, you have to order it separately.

How much modification is there to put a 4" super lift on. The woman said a lot of stuff has to be modified to put it on.

 

You'll need new shocks but I thought the kit came with those. The kit is like 2000 including the driveshaft, go to stuffforyourranger.com/store and get it from there.

 

NOTHING NEEDS modified for the superlift. It's merely a drop down bracket lift! You need new rotors? Sounds like a receptionist just reading off a computer. The SUperlift comes with shocks, and I believe the RCD does as well. The superlift is a Front lift, and they also have a rear lift as well, packaged/sold seperately?

Yea, StuffForYourRanger.com sells the Superlift. You can find the kit for around the 1500-1800 range w/o the front shaft. A buddy of mine found his at a 4x4 shop for $1300 w/o shaft.

i know that 4 wheel parts in raleigh only charges $600 for labor and the price of the superlift is the same as all other web sites. they did a great job on my body lift.

a guy at work just got his truck back last night from having work done to his f150. he got a 3" body lift and new rims and tires for 3300, installed. he said the lift was only 800 i think, and he got some of the linee rims too. ill get you the places number if ou wanna travel a little bit

 

i always thought the rcd used coil overs, and thats why it was more.
the coilovers are shocks and springs.

i would just buy the superlift and have a few buddys help you with it.

 

She's smoking some seriously good stuff to be tellin you that man... Shane's talkin about Austin... We put his superlift on in about 8hrs with only 2 people for about 6 hours of the install... It is ALL drop brackets for the front and a block in the rear. It also comes with the 4in longer shocks from stock. He paid $1300 cash from a shop close to where Shane and I live.

You don't need anything more than 3.25in backspacing to run anything lifted, hell you don't even need that sometimes, it's all about what will clear at full turns and stuff like that.

I have the RCD and that with the Body lift with gap guards and 315's mounted and balanced ran me $3400 INSTALLED by the shop. I don't see the need for the SL shaft, I've got over 7k miles since my lift and they say they crap out around 10k and I haven't noticed anything. Its just an add-on to get you to spend money I think.

 

The RCD does use coil-overs... That IS why it costs more.

 

For that money you should be able to SAS it, lol. That's way too much like folks said.

 

I wish I woulda known about SAS's when I bought my RCD... I could have had my SFA by now! Luckily I was able to help out FoxyFord and convince him to do his SAS and not the RCD lol

 

Regarding backspace. You don't want anything higher than 5".....evne at that 5" is WAAY to sucked in as it is. I'm running 3.75" backspace....about ready to run 3.25" backspace. The higher the number, the more sucked in the wheel is. The lower the number, the more sticking out they are.

 

Wait until the boot on your stock drive shaft tears and slings grease all over the underside of your truck. Unfortunately my socks and shoes are off and I don't feel like going outside to go get pics of my former stock drive shaft. Nor do I remember the mileage when my drive shaft went down the crapper.

What so special about the superlift shaft?? Just longer??

I'm thinking about a Expo CV front shaft w/ the adapter for my current case.

 

its got a proper joint to account for the angle and stress of the new lift, along with being MUCH heavier duty.. a stock driveshaft cant take the stress over time and it WILL fail on you, if you cant afford the driveshaft soon as you put the lift on, you might as well wait for the lift until you can purchase the driveshaft.. cause its a ticking time bomb, and I have been told between 5000-7500 miles is about the limit you'll want to go on it.

 

Ehh, I'll order it when mine sh*ts on me... There's no signs of it failing and I'm almost at your peak at 7500 miles on the stock shaft... RCD doesn't require you to buy the Superift shaft, doesn't say anything about upgrading the shaft either.

 

Yeah bro, def. go somewheres else.. That place is trying to rape you! I got my 4" SL and driveshaft for just under 1500 i believe.. And it comes with The shocks for the front.. The rear is just blocks....

 

Just a warning too...

Look up Superlifts website.. they warn yu about the driveshaft, if somethign expolodes they wont cover it as they say itll last rouhgly top peaks of around 10,000 miles.. maybe more ofr less depending on yoru driving habits..

I think they give it the 10,000 miles a range if people abuse it off-road and such...

Just be careful though!!! If y ou hear soem thumpin and banging.. it may be time to take a peek at it again

 

What do those shafts run($$$)?? Is there an alternative to using their shaft?
