Pressed it in with a mini-press on my ES3000's.

That's about the only way me and my uncle could figure on how to get it in.

Did yours comes with new bolts bc mine didnt and the stock ones fit really loose inside the metal bushing. So I wonder if i even need them in.

pull the metal piece out......lube the inside of the rubber bushing and the metal piece with soap.....start the metal piece in the bushing.......put it on a hard surface and push in with the shock.....

^^that is what i did to my mom's Explorer's shocks when i replaced them last winter....

I don't think I got new bolts, just reused the old ones. I would say that yes, the metal does have to be in it to prevent the rubber from being torn to hell.

Ok now my new problem is that the damn metal bushing is to big to fit in the bottom shock mount on the axle. Do i cut it shorter or what? This crap was supposed to be easy!

The rear. We took measurements and the stock bushing is 1.5 long and the new one is 1.65 long also it measures .63 wide and the stock measures .57 wide so the stock bolt just rattles around inside the bottom mount. I think they must have sent the wrong bushings.

The top mount has a stepped shoulder on the stud that takes the place of the metal sleeve.

i remember now!

i know u have been PMing me but oh well.

the slop is fine that is how mine are and they are fine. its such a small amount it wont matter.

as for the wide bushing what i did was ground some off the metal tube piece then i spread the mount on the axle some. slide it in and bolted it up
