Broken rear upper shock bracket

Like the title says, I have a broken shock bracket. Rusted through on one side and just gave in to the bending action. Called Ford, they said the bracket is not a servicable item, however, the tech said he would email Ford and see if they can help. LOL don't think I'm gonna get an answer from them anytime soon.

Are there any aftermarket brackets that can be used? Better off just welding the bracket back together with some steel and hope for the best? I drilled out the rivets and have the two pieces sitting on my bench.

I have a replacement at work. Mine did the same thing. Did the bracket snap or the bolt that goes through the shock break. PM me your cell # and I'll take a pic of what I have and If you want I can mail you one or I'll give you the part # and you can get one from your local auto parts store.

Ahh, Sorry man I can't get the bracket. I can get the stud though which doesn't help you.

Well, had this puppy welded with some extras. Added a hunk a steel and welded it all back together.

Then added some anti-rust paint, waiting for it to dry and I will install it tomorrow.
