I had my 08 tbars cranked and now I learned of the prekey mod. I dont really understand what the keys are so if I got a pair of 07 keys would I have to get my tbar crank undone? what about putting spacers in the front?

 

There is no way of putting spacers in the front to lift. The prekey are factory installed keys from any 07 and older torsion bar ranger. The keys in the newer trucks are designed to make the truck sit lower for better aerodynamics to improve fuel economy. The older or "prekey" will lift the front end about one inch BEFORE t-bar crank. Basically you will be putting your suspension geometry to 2007 and older specs instead of 08+. you will be able to lift the front higher with a torsion crank without buying an expensive lift kit

 

so i am i correct in thinking i can leave my tbars cranked AND put in the 07 keys? how would i search the net to find a set of older keys, are they common?

 

Also I wonder if the older key will be bigger than the truxxx key i had installed.

 

if you have had aftermarket keys installed then no, they won't

 

ya i jumped out their and got readylift keys before checking here to see if their was a fix for basicaly the lowered 4x4's for 08+ lol
