Icon4 some drop help

I just purchased this colorado(still have my ranger lol) and as you can see it has a drop kit, with nothing in the bed it rides super smooth....when i load my bike or bikes into it, the damn thing seems to have no suspension in the back and bottoms hard over small bumps. So do i need to buy new shocks for the rear or what might be a good suggerstion to help when i throw 400 lbs in the bed, thanks for the help.....

if its stock shocks out back. you NEED drop shocks, the stock ones will bottom out.. and check your bump stops.. as it may be hitting those.. if its hitting factory bumps, u can get some low profile ones from beltech or probeven auto parts store.. and also, you could look into air shocks and then run air line to out by the top of the bumper with a shreader(sp) valve to air it up when you haul stuff.

you dnot need drop shocks until you get the low profile bumpstops.
even dropped, the axle doesnt have any extra up travel than stock. and it should be designed so that the factory bumpstops contact the axle before the shock bottomts out.

w/400lbs in teh bed of a lowered truck like that im sure you are ridding the bumpstops. as urandaman stated, low profile bumpstops and shorter shocks will help, but i doubt they will completely cure your issue. dependin on how heavily you are riding the bumps, you might need to look into a c-notch in the frame.

my old 97 ranger was dropped 5.5/8 with good shocks and a c-notch in the rear. it rode great both loaded and unloaded.
