possible broken leaf spring

I have a 2002 ranger xlt 4x4 ext can, if I rock the truck back and forth the pinion at the drive shaft flange goes up and down excessively and whe taking off from dead stop feels like play in rear end all u joints and trans mount is new,any help would be appreciated, thank you

Well you will be able to look and see if a spring is broken. So go look.

truck sping

It's at shop having difficulty work done ,I would think it would be obvious but they are all tied together

Anyways, from your descriptio . Id say pinion bearing is shot.

leaf spring

I should have said the whole housing moves up and down
