MODfestivous!!! shock problems and i'm sure more to come

So i finally got the offroad accident mod fixed on my truck...dang tree huggers. Ford called me for the estimate..$3200...i love Farmers Ins.
you can see in the pic the before, and then obviously the afters.

so i ordered shocks before i put my truck in the shop, but they ended up being too short. What i ordered was for a Ranger with 5.5 inches of lift(i figured the EDGE with the lift i got would work well). NOT. They weren't even as long as the shocks on the truck factory. So i called the place i got the shocks from, told them my situation and i got them to just give me extended and compressed lengths. Turns out the biggest ones for any Ranger was 18.5 extended, which is what mine already are. I ended up ordering some that were 21.5 extended and 14.0 compressed (i can't find any info on this shock anywhere on the internet, but i think they come off a fullsize truck part # fts7331). i went out on a limb here because even after 30 minutes or searching i found no info on the shocks. i was really worried at first, because i didn't want to mess with the wrong ones again. Man do these fit in there just perfect. As you can see in the on picture, the tire even sits a little lower (right side new and left side old shock). I think this to be a great find because they are the exact length compressed, but 3 inches longer extended. This isn't because i got lift from the shock, but because the old shock was maxed out that when i would lift my truck with the jack, the shock would in turn..pick the entire wheel up off the ground. I even had to jack it up few times to get the tires on afterwards. I posted a picture of the old and new shock side by side. I've read posts on here before and many people stated that new shocks are not needed with a lift; however, i disagree greatly. I would say though with just a spindle or just a tbar crank lift you might not. But with the two lifts combined, its it definitely needed. Next is rear shocks and limit straps for the front.

I also posted my before and after clear corners (they put back on the factories in the body shop) and can see my shocks from the front in one picture.

Efan and underdrive pulley is in the garage. that'll be next weekend. Double Decker light bar for front is ordered and on the way. and front receiver hitch will be ordered this week. i would like to do all the "front end" mods on the same day so i'm waiting.

if you were a 4wd those shocks wouldnt work well. as the CVs would bind.

do the balljoints not bind? i assume that is why you want limit straps.
