Guys with RCD kit and Alcoa rims

I just got off the phone with Paul at RCD. However, let me rewind....

Last week I stopped by Big-O tires to find out how much it'd run me to get the AR Mojave Teflons in 15x8. They placed a call into wherever they call and I was told that due to the -19mm offset those rims have they will not work on the OEM spindles of a 4x4 ranger. They suggested I get the Baja rim instead. Now, aside from the alcoas I'd REALLY like to get away from a polished/chrome rim and over to a black or dark gray rim, thus the teflon desire and as such I also looked at American Racing's chamber rim but it too has a -19mm offset

So why am I posting this. Well, just got off the phone with RCD (like I said). Even though their instructions specify a maximum BS of 4 inches, the kit can be run no problem with the alcoas 4.5inch backspacing. Paul mentioned DesertSpive's (Sean on ORR) truck and that they'd had no issues with the 4.5inch backspacing. What this equates to for me is that I get to keep my forged aluminum rims and not have to shell out money for new rims. On the down side though, I keep a 15x7 with 4.5inch backspacing rim when I was hoping to go with a 15x8 and a 3.5-3.75inch backspacing for a little added stance. That said, regarding offset, what's the deal? Can anyone elaborate? Should this post be in wheels and tires? LOL

On a separate note, Big04Ranger's rear 4.88s and front diff geared to 4.88 arrived today. And hopefully I get my truck back today from the body shop regarding the accident mod of Nov 06.

I say run what you got for a while. You just got those M/Ts right? Wear them out or give to me cheap.

I know I've seen the Teflons on a stock spindled Ranger (2wd Edge)

-19mm? what is the backspacing on those? I'm pretty sure that Thomas(cant remember his signon) had those wheels on his 2004? 2003? 4wd ranger. he bought them while we were at the FL meet. Then he ran those on his truck after the superlift.

really tho the backspacing is only -11mm difference from a Mickey Thompson wheel. hmm.

let me find that guys signon.

-19mm on an 8" wheel is 3.75" BS. dont see why that wouldnt fit jus fine.

i agree, looking at the wheel diagram id dont see why it wouldnt work either.

the MT is just less backspacing and more offset. where you are the opposite. the backspacing should make up for that -11mm offset difference.

the MT cape is referring to are my mud-terrains. I'm assuming he was reading my intentions as going with a 12.50 tire over the 10.50 I have.

But I see what you're saying beard regarding the MT (mickey thompsons). Knowing that I can run with the alcoas for a while will give me time to save up for 35s and new rims.

Thanks
