And to the OP, you'll need to notch the frame, if you haven't already, but you can remove the second leaf from the rear spring pack, and that should net you about 2" more, plus a smoother ride.
Belltech sells "lowering hangers" for the front hanger as well. I believe they do about the same as flipping the hangers, but I don't know of anybody that has done it.

yah im confused to- if you flipped your hangers, you can still go for a springunder axle kit and that will lower it the width of the axle, and from there just notch the frame and add lowering blocks if you want to get low for cheap. I got Western chassis hangers that lower my rear of the 88 around 3"

ok all i did was flip the rear hangers...no flip kit or anything....and in my avatar pic...my truck isnt even lowered there yet lol... no axle flip or anything...and fliping the axle on top of the leafs is going to give me a termendouse drop....i only need about another 1-2".
