camburg vs. anything cheaper...
ok guys,
I was looking at camburg kits, when i realized that the main thing that lifts the truck are the spindles... it also comes with some nice bilstein shocks, upper a arms, and lines/straps... but for 2000 dollars i really dont know if its worth it when you can get 3" lift spindles on ebay for 300. as a matter of fact its practically the same thing. either way, you get about the same amount of lift. can anybody explain to me why the camburg is so much better? i mean i understand that it gives you alot more travel and what ever, but honestly this isnt really a prerunning kit. I mean ive heard some people saying oh well if you are going to go hard on your truck then definently get the camburg... blah blah. With the spindles from doetsch, and some nice bilstein shocks you would have it made....
somebody explain. because i want to lift my truck, ive been planning it for months and have decided to go with doetsch spindles but i saw this guys truck today with that camburg kit and thought to myself, wow i like that alot

alright... trent has the camburg 6.0 kit with a single 5100 shock and i have fabtech spindles and the bilsteins from the fx4... basically same shock as the 5100. out in pismo, his truck rode alot smoother and you could definately tell there was a difference. the 6.0 is a prerunning kit, camburg raced their edge with the 6.0 kit.
what kind of offroading are you doing? my fabtech spindles and shocks are pretty good for what i paid for em, but the camburg kit is still much better.
you can make a sig under user cp to help us out with what truck/year/engine you have

Camburg races with the same products that they are selling to you so you know its gonna work. Most other companys don't do that, they just use research from their race trucks to help design their kits. If you are really going to be pushing you truck then there is no substitute for Camburg. If you really look deeper into what goes into the camburg kit you see that its only the top equip. your gonna have suspension that you don't have to worry about. If its just for looks and occasionally driving on a non-paved "trail" then its not worth the money ans go with something else

ok
did a sig.
now, no im not planning on going hardcore or crazy. yeah ocationally going offroading but nothing too crazy. mainly a daily driver. mainly for looks. but when i do go offroading, want to not worry about anything. Im planning on getting the doetsch spindles from them directly. not the ebay ones. due to return policy, and i trust buying them directly from the manufacturer rather than buying an knock off of them from ebay. also, there are a few issues ive heard about with the ones on ebay. And you are telling me that they race some rangers with that camburg kit? even though it doesnt eliminate the torsion bars? i dunno i just dont think that putting a larger spindle, making a stronger upper control arm, and giving you some steel brake lines, and straps along with really nice shocks make the truck worth of prerunning??? but i may be really wrong.... what u guys think?

Although I'm running a completely different suspension set up than you, I'm planning on getting Camburg's entry level kit for my truck in March (cross my fingers). There were lots of other alternatives for my truck, but they just consisted of drop brackets for miscilaneous suspension parts. From talking to people here and looking at some of camburgs work and products, going with them seemed to be the best choice. Although I don't take my truck out nearly as much as some of the guys/gals on here, I plan on getting a lot more use off-road after getting the kit from camburg on, and not having to worry (as much) about breaking something. You get what you pay for. But if you're not gonna be off-road all that much, then your spindles you're picking up should be fine. Don't believe they race their stuff?... spend some more time on their site...

For your truck (and after reading ur posts) the fact that you arent going to be doing any real pre-runner off-roading, the Spindles are the way to go. With the money saved vs the Camburg u could buy the spindels, some Deaver AALs, and Bilsteins and still ahve money left over. That little group will give you a very good off-road truck, but wont be wasting any money. The Camburg kit is more for the person who goes to Pismo, Stoddard Wells, and other Desert/Beach places where you will be constantly going 60mph over whoops.
Trent has the 6.0 on his truck and since he goes to school w/ me, we go off-roading quite often. His truck does kick alot of *** when we head over to Pismo (and for that fact everywhere) but when we goto a trail, its almost overkill w/ the 6.0 For what you will be doing the Camburg will be just that, overkill and a huge overspending of money.

SScustoms is new. I hunted his "steppie" ranger down a few nights ago while heading onto campus to finish my laundry. I thought about leaving an obscene steppie comment, but he's oblivious to that joke (those of you from ORR will get the steppie comment). I figured just leaving a note to here and ORR was obscene enough. Get a sig going Clint, and a post to the intro forum LOL Now I just have to get the cute chick that drives the blue prerunner ranger parked over in Rhodes-Garret on here. I met her at Wal-Mart months ago. She caught me parking next to her and checking out her truck.
....And now back to your regularly scheduled camburg thread.

it is a 3 inch spindle and then fully cranked torsion bars to get the 6 inches. if you want just a lift, get fabtech. if you want something better for offroading, get the camburg.
also, josh, you have a 4x4 and these lifts/suspension systems are for 2wd. you will need to look into superlift or RCD, or if you on a budget, just a body lift.
