Want to lower my 07 STX. What do i need to know?

I have been wanting to lower my ranger a bit but am finding it hard to find lowering kits for the front of my 07 STX. I dont have the income for a full fledged auto-leveling air bag system like i'd love to have but would like to put a lowering kit on it. I'm looking for a small drop so i can drop it down a bit without leveling the stance out. I'd rather the truck not sit level because i dont like how it looks with the back end lower than the front when my foot is on the gas like how my old blazer looked w/ the 2/3 drop i had on it. Because of condition of the road i live on, i cant afford to put a big drop on the truck and still make it down the road without ripping my front bumper off. I've lowered a chevy S-10 Blazer before but am curious if there is anything i need to know about rangers that's different about lowering one. What is the minimum drop i would have to put on it when i need to put a flip kit on the rearend and would i need to notch my frame?
This is what i have to work with.

The front end of my truck has DJM parts. Check out DJM. They are popular for dropping a Ranger.

Here is the link to the 1998- 2010 Ford Ranger parts. They offer a 2/3 drop. I think this is what you are after.

ok i can do that and just replace the shocks with drop shocks. although i may have see if i can swap out the 2in springs for 3in ones so i can keep the lower stance in the front than in the rear since i dont like the leveled look.

A 2/3 will still leave you with a rake. The back end of your truck sits up pretty good. You do not want to look like a donk. Maybe you do. It is up to you. Your stock shocks will work with the 2 inch springs though. Unless you just want to buy some drop shocks. It should ride just fine and will look 10 times better.

Take a look (this truck is lowered alot more than 2/3 though)

Lowered

Front slammed

In the weeds.

Haha, I did not think so since you are considering a drop kit. The stock fender gap in the rear is a bit much. Your truck will look like a sport truck after the drop.

Are those thunderbolt side skirts on the blue truck?

Good info "stock shocks will work with the 2" springs. My Thunderbolt needs to be a couple inches lower.

I wouldn't do 3" springs. I hear nothing but "horrible ride" and I hear it is harder to align. What sounds like you should do is go with the DJM kit and use the lift shackle to give you a 4" drop in the rear and front. However if you use the lift shackle you could make it where the rear only sits 3" lower. So you end up with a 4/3 and have the rake you want.

here is the stance im wanting to achieve. or at least something close to that. this is one idea i have for modifying my truck. i'll be doing other drawings later on but for now this is the cheaper route. the other ones i have in mind are more or less WHAT IF ideas. as in what if i could afford to do this lol

Nice drawing. Go ahead to order your DJM drop kit. Lets get this project started.
