Lower control arm lock nuts

I'm in the process of redoing the whole front end of my 99 ranger xlt rwd with the front coil suspension. While I was taking off the lower control arm bolts one of the lock nuts that attach into the frame sheared off. Got the other one off and the other one is currently seized in there pretty good prolly going to have to sawzall that one off.

My question is..are these lock nuts really needed? Couldn't I just use a grade 8 bolt same shank size with a lock nut and blue loctite for added measure? The passenger side only has one lock nut cause the rear facing bolt has a camber caster adjust on it.

I could go to the junk yard but chances are I'd have to fight those ones out too and would be much easier to just get a new bolt.
