steering

i have a 1996 ranger with gear box and have a lose steering wheel have to move it a lot to then turn wheels have new ball joints tie ends and front end it not lose what can i do to get the steering wheel so lose

Replace the gear box yet? Also on my old 91 the bolts came lose where it bolts to the frame and caused it to loosen up a little

i have not changed it but did titen the bolt on the top of the gear box that titens the wheel but dont know how titen i can go before it does damage

I'm talking about the bolts that actually hold it onto the frame
