2wd "2.3L" what lift options do I have?
I want to lift my truck but I want my speedometer to be right as well and I don't want to loose a lot of my power because there already isn't much. What can I do to get a decent lift but not loose power. I don't really understand what a body lift involves but I think I understand that it is really extensive and I don't have that much time because of work and school. Please help I am really ignorant I don't know anything about raising vehicles

the lift in itself doesn't really effect power, the larger tires do. i have 2'' coils and slightly larger tires on and it's so gutless it isn't even funny. you'd have to consider regearing to help with the tires.
a BL involves removing the body bolts and bushing and replacing them with 3'' lift bushings. maybe a shifter extension if you have a 5 speed. the general concensus is it can be done in one long day with a torch and some elbow greese

Thanks I'm not much into the body lift idea I want true ground clearance I'm thinking about this kit here K4122B Pro Comp ES3000 Shock Lift Kit - Front Stage 1 Coil Spring - Rear 3.5" Block (5") for 93-97 Ford Ranger at Andy's Auto Sport

didn't know anyone was still making a kit for these trucks. the price seems fair-ish to me, with the drop brackets and all.
as far as re-gearing figure out what you have now, Ford Ranger Rear Axles - The Ranger Station
gear ratio can be found on a tag on the rear end or through the code on your driver door info sticker. you probably have the 7.5 and depending on if manual or auto trans anywhere from 3.08s to 3.73s and you'd probably want to go with 4.10s which i believe is the lowest gear you can get in the 7.5

So I'm really sorry guys but I think I'm going to get bags for my truck. mainly because i can't haul anything as is because of my puny engine and for the same reason I can't go off roading and I love my fuel economy too much to destroy it by getting huge tires so I'm going to start a new post about that so if you guys know anything about that please check it out as well. Thanks for your help. Do you think I could still regear? And would it give me better pickup? Even with stock tire size
