About to order some Bilstein Shocks
Hey guys, Tomorrow I am probably going to order some Bilstein shocks for the truck. Its getting to be time for shocks.
Now my question is, is there anything I need to know about them? Those who have them, how are they on road and off road? My truck isn't lifted so im assuming the regular ones (yellow and blue?) will work out okay for me.
I dont think I want the 5100 shocks, because those are for lifted trucks. Is that correct?
Any suggestions or just input on them would be appreciated.

Before you go and buy Bilsteins read this thread, those shocks aint as good as everyone thinks and the only reason I say that is b/c you cant tell how good a product is until you can understand how they are built and how well they perform under certian situations.

You won't be disappointed with them. I've had mine for a few years and I love'em......
There are a lot of members on this and other sites that would also recommend them.
BTW......
What are you talking about.......I don't feel like reading 2 pages of an old thread. LOL

Thats fine with me, be nieve, thinking they are the best thing since sliced bread. They are not as great as you think. Look at the way they are built, look at the dampening rates! Facts go further than opinions. Bilsteins cant hold a candle to a MonoMax or a Gas-A-Just.

Aren't MonoMax really stiff for towing and hauling a lot of stuff? Not everyone needs that, a lot of guys just want a good shock that rides great on the street and performs good offroad. Now if the MonoMax's are good for that as well then I'll check them out. I've heard just as many good things about the Bilsteins as I have the MonoMaxs. Just cause you like them doesn't make them the best shock for everyone...

Wow. Those things really made a difference. My OE shocks were in terrible shape in comparison to these things. They ride real nice and aren't as stiff as I thought theyd be. Very comfortable ride.
Thanks for your guy's suggestions. Next test, Off roading. Ill be excited to see how they do.

i got 5100s out back.. but the front ones they sent me the wrong ones.. so i had to settle with crappy monroe sensatrac (broke the bolt of the stock shock trying to get it off and obviously couldn't wait to get another set of bilsteins) and not barely 6 months later these monroes are already trashed..ride like crap now
