block/shackle?

okay, first off i tried searching, and i couldn't find the information i was looking for.
currently i have stock springs in the back with stacked blocks (superlift+stock). i was thinking about getting the chevy drop shackles and getting rid of the stock 2" block, and maybe eventually trying to get rid of the superlift block as well. what i am wondering is will i need to get longer shocks? i have the shocks that came with the superlift now. i would like to get as much flex as possible out of my rear.

Im gonna get rid of the blocks too. (after I fix that noise lol)

Anyway, i was looking at the Skyjacker 6" leaf springs and then getting rid of the blocks all together, that way it will net a 4" lift (without the 2" stock blocks).

Im still researching this though

if you have longer shocks now and you end up with the same amount of rear lift after you do whatever you decide to do you wont need longer shocks

okay, i was just wondering because bocks don't really help travel at all, and it seems like a shackle would let the axle travel farther. is that incorrect?

How bout using the 4" skyjacker leafsprings and keeping the stock blocks? would that net the same results as using the 6" springs without the blocks? I ask because the 4" springs are around $50 cheaper

My only suggestion would be go with the 6" lift springs now, in the long run you'll end up spending less money than getting rid of one block now, and another down the road.

When I installed my used Superlift, I wanted nothing to do with double blocking. So....I installed a Procomp short universal AAL and a Belltech 6400 2" chevy drop shackle. Sits really level. SL shocks are fine...it's still about 3-4" total lift.

FYI....2" chevy drop shackles added 1.5" lift. If you pull your stock 2.5" blocks and add the drop shackles...you'll be going down an inch.

Here's mine w/ Superlift......stock blocks, short AAL, and 2" chevy drop shackles...
