When the Superlift isn't enough?

So, I bought the Superlift, but I'm thinking that I'd like an additional 2" of lift. What is the best way to acheive this? I'm not to familiar with some of the other meathods some of you guys use like AAL (I understand that is a Add-A-Leaf), Drop shackels, Spindles, etc. How would I go about incorporating additional components to an existing lift kit.

What will work with what I already have?

Oh and I have a 2000 XLT 4x4 with 8.8 w/ LS and 4.10's

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You could do a 3" body lift.

Or, max the torsion bars in the front and AAL or shackles in the rear.

Or, coil-over's in the front and AAL or shackles in the rear.

KLC gave all good ideas. About all you can do at the point you're at. Just for future reference though, spindle lifts are only for 2wd.

I'd just throw a BL on there like KLC said. For not a whole lot more than shackles you can go 3" higher and keep your bars uncranked.

depends on what you want to do, if you dont want to touch the bars then you can do the BL. If you dont want to do a BL the you have a couple of options, the most expensive but probably the best would be new (i think 6") skyjacker leaf springs plus you could do shackles and crank t-bars. or just do AAL and the rest of that.

Well cranking the Tbars too much will stiffen the ride, so if you don't want that.....*can't believe I'm saying this*.... do the BL.

I didn't like saying that. I would crank the tbars and and do the add a leaf

Take note that you have the option of a coil-over conversion with the superlift. Custom bracketry and other stuff is needed, but this will give you a smoother ride.

Correct me if im wrong, but could you get a little higher (not much) than t-bars in the front with a c/o?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I already bought wheels and 33" tires and I know the 33's under a truck with a 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift doesn't look very good. Before I bought the 33" tires I did some research on 35's w/ a double lift and more than a few people said that they regretted going that route because the 35's just wear out the front end and they were replacing parts on an annual basis. I'd love to avoid that.

So my thinking is at what point do 33's start not looking proportionate to the amount of lift?

Can you get a 1" or 2" body lift? Does what I'm asking make since?

You can do a custom 1" body lift, search on here, I know someone has done it. Basically it's like using hockey pucks. Either way tho, your 33's will look perfect with your suspension lift. Do that, and if you're happy with it, keep it that way. If you still wanna go bigger, do a body lift or the other options listed above, and get 35's... keep in mind with tires that big you will probably want to re-gear so you can gain back some lost power trying to turn those big tires.

I would just keep the suspension lift and not worry about it. Unles you want to get 35's I would just keep the one lift.

yes you can but if you do this i would strongly suggest limit straps because i cranked my T-bars and with in a month both axles were gone due to binding.... what ever you do judt make sure you arnt exceeding your CV angle at full droop..

after 4 CVs axles i just figured id rather spend a little more for a SAS and mot have to keep replacing CVs

Couple more questions. How could I add an additional inch of lift (front and back) on top of the SL without doing a bodylift? AAL?

Does anyone have a part # for the upper and lower Moog Ball Joints?

I dont know who your going to get the lift you want out of the front, crank the bars is all I know to do. The rear my short AAL gave me 1 3/4in of lift. I dont think you will have enough crank left on your bars to level the truck after you lift the rear.

I was afraid of that. I really don't wan't my T-Bars maxed though.

Do you know if the SL alone will be level front to back, or will I have to play with the T-bars some?

The superlift should help make it look level. It should be 4 inches in the front and 3inches in the rear.

Yep.. i have a 1" lift on my truck. Its a put it together yourself kit, but it is really not hard at all to put together, and pretty cheap as well.

Here is a fast track on how to do so...there is a thread over in the B/L tech forum on it.
https://www.ranger-forums.com/f102/1...upplies-29269/

Page 12 has a nice write up by Mike (VH5150), i printed out his post and used it on my lift.

You could do a slight torsion twist and a BT6400 in the rear and see where your truck stands. If its not enough you could always add the 1"bl later.

The SL brackets alone give you 2-2 1/4in of lift. You get the extra lift in the front by cranking your bars.

So you have to crank the T-bars? That sucks. Am I going to have to max the T-bars out to see the full 4" that SL claims? I was hoping I wasn't going to have to crank them much, if at all. I was hoping to keep a stockish ride quality. So I'll probably need new #1 T-Bars. This sucks.
