Fabtech 5.5" Suspension Lift Question
Okay, I'm not going to lie. I'm a cheap guy and hate spending a lot of money. But I wanted to get the 5.5 inch fabtech lift for my 2003 3.0L Coil spring front suspension ranger which is freaking $1500. But It's to my understanding that as far as the front lift goes, it's just fabtech's 2.5" coil spring/control arm lift added on to their 3" spindle lift. But my buddy owns a 4x4 fabrication shop that I work at sometimes for extra cash and he told me that he fabricates upper and/or lower control arms all the time and that he'd give me a bada** deal and do some uppers for me for a $150ish. On top of that I found a place that sells Fabtech 2.5" lift coil spring replacements for about $170ish. My question is. Can I just buy the $700 Fabtech Spindle Lift which comes with Spindles, shocks, and a rear lift block. And then buy those replacement fabtechs I found and then get my buddy to Fabricate some upper control arms and make my own 5.5 lift package? or would there be any issuses? If I could then I would just buy some chevy lowering shackles too even out the truck, any feedback would be helpful because this could save me A LOT of cash!

the only issue would come from the control arms...if your buddy gets them right there shouldnt be an issue. if youre going throught all that work, might look into getting an 8" 2.0 shock in there instead of some white body rockets.
Also there are other companies besides Fabtech that make lift spindles...i had some Doestch spindles on my 99. But that all went out the window for my BTF mid travel kit.

doetsch spindles are a MUCH better idea, and way less money.
buy the camburg racing 2.5 coils, and btf uniball upper control arms, or homemade.
avoid fabtech. example, heres burg vs fabtech
and ill post my video of my truck running burg coils, btf arms, fox 2.0 shocks and doetsch spindles. (since you seem to be interested in the same thing i was)

Me and nate ran the same setup for a while, and we both have done our fair share of offroading without issue. Here's a video of my truck with the 3" doetsch spindles, 2.5" camburg coils, and BTF UCA's. Also worth noting you should get limit straps as well..
edit: the forum's code for youtube videos is garbage, sorry about whatever its showing up as.
