Torque settings on rear leafe spring bolts?

Anybody know?

If I remember correctly it was about 95-100 ft/lbs.

German torque them.

ya its around 90. i hit mine with my impacked gun then got out the torque wrench put it to 100 and it clicked min i pulled it i was like EH there tight now lol...

So I'm installing a pair of JD traction bars and ran a search for the torque value for the axle U-bolt nuts. I found it (76 ft-lbs), but had another question:

WTF is German torque?!?!?


I'm half German so I should already know this...

Ha! Now I get it!

I'd rather not strip any threads, so the U-bolts will see the business end of my torque wrench.

Actually Bob, it was in one of your posts in a different thread that I found the 76 ft-lbs. So thanks for the info, and thanks for the clarification of the international torque application!
