T-bar refresher course...

After looking at a few ranger edges i noticed sarahs is a bit low in the front compared to the others i seen. so i was thinking of cranking the bars a little.

i know the allignment deal with the camber and all that jazz. i was thinking an inch if that just to make it semi level again...and id get the allignment checked and the proper kit installed if needed.

but my question pertains to the ball joints. i cant remember or find readily what amount of crank will increase ball joint wear. i am thinking it was any crank but i cant recall. i dont want to wear the ball joints out in 10K just because the bars are cranked a little.

I'm far from an expert on this, but my perception has always been that the handling and wear problems (ball-joint, tires, etc) is proportional to how much you 'crank' the adjusters. I would reason that you can get away w/ a bit of a crank w/ minimal problems. Meaning if you give the adjusters as little as a quarter or half turn each you won't notice much of a difference at all.

In fact, if the bars have sagged/settled then you're probably experiencing these problems already as the suspension is out of spec on the low-side. A 'crank' would put them back into spec and actually improve handling, and tread/ball-joint life.

John and Bob have posted the specs before. I'm sure you can find it w/ the ol' search. Why not break out the tape measure and see if you are actually out of spec or not, then evaluate..
