You could get Camburg/Giant/garage-builder shackles for not much more, and they are actually built. The ones above are weaker than you're stock shackles, the plating is thinner, the welds won't hold under stress, and there are no internal gussets or boxing that would reinforce it under pressure. I'd suggest an aal over that anyday, they are the same price and won't have any affect on wheel hop, and definitely are not anywhere near as bad as blocks.
I know I offer my opinions a lot in this section and I know a lot of people don't agree with me most of the time, but I have been doing this for awhile and I know what works and doesn't (most of the time :P ); I'd rather people have safe parts that than buy weaker just 'cause they are cheaper and MAYBE regret it down the line. I'm not saying those would break right after you put em on, and I'm sure you would be more than fine if you don't drive crazy, I just wouldn't trust them on my truck.

They don't require you to cut wholes in the bed, 'cause for a lift you'd be installing them in the same way the stock shackles are already facing. It'd give you about a 1.5" lift. More expensive, but worth it.

trent, i'd have to disagree. i got the the lowering shackles and they are VERY sturdy. i was going to gusset and plate them but i felt there was no need whatsoever. you know how hard i offroad my truck and i havent seen any sign of weakness from them. i bought mine for $30 on ebay and would do it again if i had to.

So you install those like the stock ones are and you don't have to do any customfab crap to mount them??

No holes if you're mounting them the same way that the stock shackles are right now. Holes are cut for flipping them and gaining more travel (while at the same time making the rear end squat further), so if you want the lift install them w/o flipping the hangars, if you want the travel install them w/flipped hangars.

Trent I agree with you on the strenght part, and i understand why you wouldnt put them on your truck
however, if you are looking for a cheap lift, and dont plan to go jumping your truck off any sand dunes anytime soon, then dont buy the camburg or gaintmotorsports
they are 3-4 times the price of the chevy lowering shackle, and unless you really plan to beat your truck, you dont need anything more then that
