Torsion Bars.

I just got new springs for the rear of my 04 xlt trying to find new front torsion bars. Where can I find some HD bars that don't cost an arm and a leg. My truck is a 04 xlt 4.0 4x4.

Junkyard. Search for spring codes starting with the #1 in both 95+ Explorers and 98+ Rangers. Code will be something like 1K for older trucks, and newer trucks will be something like 11KK.

i did some reading of the chevy full size forums several months ago

some of the chief mechanics say to just swap the torsion bars to the other side

they reported zero issues going that route

maybe try that route first , see what happens , no money wasted , just a test so to speak

They're also stamped L and R with directional arrows.
