SAS lift ?s

Im thinking about doing a sas on my truck, ive got a dana 30 that I can get for free anytime I want. What I would like to know is about how much lift I can expect to get out of some jeep coils? Also what kind of stearing set up works the best?

We need more information. What size tires you want to run? Stock jeep coils? lifted Coils? TJ/XJ/ZJ?

here...ill try to answer your question. I'm compairing toyotas vs rangers here though.....a 6" toyota spring, is about 7-8" lift on a ranger, because of where the spring will mount to the truck. I know I'm talking about leaf springs, but thats all the help i can giveyou.

I'd probably start looking at a Rusty's Off Road long arm kit...possibly a 4.5 or 5.5 kit. And build it to your specs. On steering, no madder of which springs style you use.......most folks are using toyota boxes, and making a ranger upper/yota lower shaft....a yota/danger hybrid is what i call it.

get the newer one 92-95 or something. there was like 86-91 ?

i would get one from a 92-95 Toyota 4runner.

you could also buy a box from a superduty, which i have thought about.

also you may need to look into a different steering pump i want to hoping that it will get the box a bit more umph to turn the tires while sitting still. i am trying to avoid hydro as i just dont know all the effects it will have on the road.

I was talking to a buddy who is big into jeeps and he said that if I want good articulation that the rock crawler long arms is the way to go, I belive that he said it is a 3 link.
zabeard, how well is that toyota/ford steering setup you have working?

his is outside the frame as well.

i might get a smaller radiator with custom mounts so that i can mount it inside the frame. that is really the only hang up with mounting it inside the frame.

yes sir...

you will need to fab up some type of adapter to get the ford shaft to the yota box.

im not to worried about the fabbing, just getting the geometry of the steering and suspension right. What were some of weak points of the yota stearing that can be made better?

nothing weak about the box, i just think something with the pump and the box do not work well. it turns rather hard when sitting still, moving its easy.
