What type of front end?

Ok so im sure this has been covered but i cant find a web site/thread explaining the difference between the rangers front ends (i beam, ???, torsion, and any other) could someone give me a heads up on a site so i could do some learning

well the only types i know of is coil spring, and torsion, you have torsion

i just want to know what types there are (i think theres an i beam too) and i want to know the differences in them... so if i look at a different truck than my '03 (my old '92) i could tell the difference

TTB Twin Traction Beam 4wd Coil Spring like 80s to 97
TIB Twin I Beam (I think not sure) would be 2wd Coil Sprung 90s to 97

IFS Coil Spring 2wd XL and XLT models 98+
IFS Torsion Bar, Edge 2wd and 4wd, XLT 4wd, ORP, FX4s, FX4 LVL2 98+

For the IFS they have SLA and a few other terms that i dont know.

I think most of that is right but dont quote me.

Yes there are! Its the first one Zabeard posted.

I had a 96 Ranger 4x4 with Coil Springs!

oh....what were the downfalls to that suspension? why did they do away with it?
