Post Steering Stablizer

Has anyone put a steering stablizer on a 2WD Edge...if so do you have any pictures?

Does it really improve the steering that much?

Thanks in advance

steering stabilizers just cover up issues with the suspension. NO rack and pinion steering should ever need a steering stabilizer.

the rack and pinion is the stock rack and pinion from the factory, ill check the fluid level tonight. I just replaced the outer tie rods and both upper and lower ball joints as well. the only thing that is factory is the inner tie rods.

could be the inter tie rods but you have no need for a stearing stabilizer you wouldn't have any way to mount it anyway

Bump on an old thread. Looking to see if anyone has done this yet. I want one not to cover up any suspension problems, but due to the really rocky terrain here, it's a pain and would be nice to have one. Mine and my friend's 07 Ranger have identical issues, so it's not just my truck.

fabtech makes a steering stabilizer for ifs but its for the f150. im not sure they make one for rangers. i know they did that as an option to help those running tires larger than 37s so it wouldnt ruing their tres sooner.

you could fab something up to attach one end to the sub frame and the other end to the knuckle (like the pic above)

But, a R&P basically is a steering stabilizer.. there's no need, i don't even have one and i have the worlds shortest drag link.

Superlift made a system for 98+ IFS trucks. I dont have a pic but search around. That is if you really need one.

I think rangers notice the problem more because they are so light.

i think it basically boils down to the rack and pinion being a weak system. its okuntil you throw oversized tires on there then it kinda gets worn out really fast. and bumpsteer becomes a problem. if they were to come out with a steering system like the ifs toyotas, that would be awesome. i would do it fo sho

Thats exactly what i was looking to do. Do you have any pics of it mounted to the chassis? I'd probably be able to scrounge something up like that

your gonna do all that work, then sas it?

buttt i guess getting the steering box on there took up a ton of time on my sas.. plating/sleeving the frame. Drilling thought a piece of 1/4" plate, then a frame rail, then another frame rail, then another piece of 1/4" plate... all they way up to a 3/4" hole SUCKED
