Mild lift for 2wd 98 ranger?

Been thinking more and more about getting a small lift (2" max) to fit some bigger tires when the current ones wear out soon.

I'd like to go to 30x9.5 with a 2" lift, or 235/75/15 without a lift.

I don't really care about off-road performance. The truck is my daily driver, but I'd like to do an AAL to beef up the load it can carry, or to improve how much it squats when it does carry a load. It's a 2.5l 4 cyl so I don't want to go crazy and have to do an bunch of swap outs (gears, arms, etc)

Is it ok to do a 2" coil spacer up front and an AAL in the rear? How much lift in the back do I do? I'd like to level the front with the back...

Or is a 1" BL and 1" coil spacer & AAL better?

Basically I'd like 2" of lift without having to do a bunch of other stuff...

Any recomendations?

Your 30's will fit without a lift and not rub at all. That is what I put on mine. Take a look.

98TexasRanger, that looks really nice. They're 30x9.5x15 ?

I've been looking everywhere for photos of a 2wd truck like mine with 30" tires and no lift. That is awesome! Same rims as I have, and the BF Goodrich ATs are the same tire I was looking at. That's the best visual I'm ever going to get in term of how I think it will look.

Any rubs at all? Full turn? What about when you load up the bed? I haul stuff every so often. But it does look like there's enough space...

Never thought maybe 1"" or 2" extra space would help in any way?

The extra space wouldn't hurt anything, but you don't need it to run that size tire.

theres less than an inch difference between 30's and 235/75s so if you do lift go with 31 or 32's...

your cheapest is a body lift if you just want looks and bigger tires

i also have 30/9.5 with no rubbing and ive hauled loads of unilock in my bed and had no rubbing

I ran 235 75R15 Tires on my 99 stock for a long time. They didn't rub at all.
I wouldn't lift your truck if that's the size tire you want to run.

Here's what 3" of lift looks like with 30" tires

Mine's a 98. I'd say that the easiest "small lift" would be AALs and Spindles.

Can you only do 2" with a spindle lift?
I though they were 3"+, also you get into swapping other parts, shocks, coils...

I think 30" is as big as I want to go... I'm sure I'll really feel a difference on the power and fuel economy if i go higer.

No one likes coil spacers?

Maybe I'll go for 30" and then see if I want some lift after. From the pictures I saw, it looks pretty good.

You could do a BL. But yeah, you're right. Shocks would have to be replaced.

If you want a lift go with spindles and AAL like some have said. It will look great and perform the same way.

Yeah Mine is a 1998 2WD. I Do have BFG's 30x9.5 15"s. There is no rubbing at all. I even took it down some rough ATV trails and did not have even one rub. I am VERY happy with the looks and all.

I'm looking to get away without a lift and run 30" tires, which it looks like I can do.

The offroading I do is mostly getting to hunting/fishing spots, more work than play, so I'm loaded with gear and beer, so there's my worry about rubbing.

If I DID eventually get a lift, I'd be looking to do the minimal amount of changes to get there without having to swap out other parts, that's why I thought of coil spacers and AAL. Would I top out my shocks if I only did 2"?
