Who the hell cares what he paid for them? Just because he got a screaming deal doesn't mean he has to let them go for cheap. People buy things cheap and re-sell to make money all the damn time. And most of you would do the same...

You're not getting it... Yeah he payed $100 for the rims, with one having a blemish. But the fact that he wants to make $300+ on a single member here is crossing the line. I would say $100-$150 would be a fair profit to make, because you're making money, and helping someone out in the process. Sounds pretty damn greedy to me. They're just alcoa's. They're not gold or stainless steel.

 

even with one having a blemish still there expensive.... i posted a checking and shot high for the amount.. the let me know is a make an offer. when you sell your truck your not going to put 5000 if you wanna sell it for 5000. i set it high know people were going to low ball me,... i dont m,ind ppl trying to ask less but the 150 bid doesnt work for me. not if some said maybe 250-300 id sell them. i thought by the shoot my an offer and let me know ppl would .... shoot me an offer. but i guess not. if you dont like the price then move to the next tread. theres no point in starting drama. to put it into perspective whatim expecting, i may be tradeing someone factory step bars for them + a lil cash... not much.

 

re read the main post and youll see me say, i will consider and reasonable offer.... if you dont wanna throw me an offer thats not my gig. at least the guy who offered my 150 and the other 120 threw out an offer and didnt just complain

 

so what your saying is he should be selling them cheaper than he bought them for, therefore your dont agree with the guy who posted before you...

even though business is business, I doubt anyone here will pay his asking price as it is greedy after it was just shoved in everyones face how he got them for $100... I know i'd look somewhere else for alcoas

no...if u bought ur truck from a dealer they sold it to u for way more than they payed for it...so he is selling the wheels for more that he payed for them.....think of him as a used wheel dealer....lol....people big corporations screw people every day....u buy something from a store u are paying more than the store payed. u buy something at a pawn shop ur paying way more than the shop payed for it...and people do that all day and dont say a word about it but if a single person wants to buy and resell for more than he paid people make a big deal out of it.....although i do agree that he would have a much better chance of selling them had he not bragged about how cheap he got them...for example i have a set of 18's on my truck with 32's on them that i bought from a friend for $140...they are easily worth $600-$800.....now i have told some of my friends how much i payed for them and now one of them wants to buy them....but because he knows how much i payed he doesn't want to give me more than $150...which is why im selling them on craigs list for $800obo...because they dont know how much i payed so them wont *****.......so ya i think u would have better luck selling elsewhere....even tho they are worth $300-$400 u probably wont be able to sell here because they know how much u payed.

 

^ lol, your logic is a little off. fact is he's not a dealer. I can't go an sell my truck for more than I paid and this case is hardly different

I totally respect that he simply got a good deal and just bought them to flip but he shouldn't have gone off discussing how much he paid because now it looks like he's gouging whether it's a fair price or not

i could easily go sell my truck for way more than i payed.....even for more then the amount of money i have into it.....i bought my truck for $800...i have about $3500 into it total including the price of the truck....i think that i could get $5000 for it.....my last truck i bought for $1000 of my money (traded 2 dirtbikes for it that i payed $800 and $200 for. although they were worth $1000 each...which is what i told the guy. that they were worth $2000 altogether and he was asking $2000) i got that truck and put a stereo and some used tires i got for free and turned around and sold it for $3200....

 

The wheels are worth what somebody is willing to pay for them. Business is business...how is he being greedy? Its one thing if you are selling to a good friend...but this is an online forum. If some guy wants to buy them for 300 what does it matter to all of you? You think he is greedy for doing that? If so, you're all insane. I don't know about all of you, but I like making as much money as possible.

Now I do agree that he shouldn't have boasted about how cheap he got them.
