a mirror mount just half of it in between the cab and the bed..im not sure if i have it tuned right though..i dont get the antenna alarm light on it and when i key up with it on calibrate it says my swr is below 2 but it doesnt seem like i pick up as much as i should.
I bought it peaked and tuned... i put a "max" tune on it last week... before it was putting out 11watts..... now its putting out 56.... Go get it tuned at a CB shop and you will get alot better reception... they will check your antenna swr's for free..
That's where mine is too... Just ran it under the head liner and down the pillar to the antenna. It's easy as hell to do. you just have to pull the headliner down a lil (after taking the visors, pillar plastics off) and find out where you want the bolts for the bracket to hold the cb. Mine was done when I bought it, but I helped a buddy do his in his ranger and it was really easy. and if you don't want it up there anymore, take it out and you only have 2 tiny holes (size of the self tap screw you used)

I've got a radioshack big radio and mine are only held in by oh... 1/4in maybe 3/8in dia self tappers... They hold it well too... I've rally'd my truck pretty hard a few times and never once have they come loose :-D
i drilled the holes and then just used regular screws i didnt have any self tapping and didnt want to run to the hardware store. I ran the coax above the headliner and down the a pillar and along the floor board. and out the hole by the jumpseat in the back
