Need opinions on new tires
I've decided to get new tires before the rainy season hits Florida, and my Goodyears get me killed.
I do 99.99% of my driving on the highway, so I want a decent all season highway tire. One with superior wet traction and decent performance. According to the reviews at TireRack, here are the top three in that category.
1. Yokohoma Geolander H/T-s G051
2. Pirelli Scopion STR A
3. Firestone Destination LE

Of these three, the Geolander has the highest rating with least cost, so that's the one I'm leaning towards. Does anyone have those tires, or know about them. I had some Yoko's on my Eclipse and they were great tires. Don't know if their truck tires are as good.
Or.... I could also get the Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/T's for a bit more money. The problem is that I don't off-road, so why loose ride quality for it. I've heard the Revos are a bit hard for everyday highway travel.

Has anyone had any experience with the new Silent Armor tires from Goodyear? I was eyeing prices myself the other day, and these seem like a good investment for someone that drives on the highway alot... has multiple ply - up to 10x I think, and an added layer of kevlar to help protect against punctures and sidewall damage... plus they're cheaper than the Wrangler AT/S too....

#6 on that list, the Mich LTX M/S is a really good tire. Those things last a LONG time. A lot of commercial trucks who do a lot of highway driving will run those. They will probably be more then the top three though.
You're gonna have to get 16" wheels to run the Pirelli's. Nevermind, just scroll down to STR A. Those are only T rated...not H like the STR's. Oh well. There's not many miles logged on these though.
