a 235 is too narrow for an 8" rim. they are less than 8" wide or real close to 8"

actualy they are 9.31"

I would like something narrow for better traction on ice because of my plow

235/25.4=9.2519685039 but if you buy a tire that is 12.50 wide (33x12.50 for example) the tread is less than 11.5" wide...im sure the tread of a 235 is less than 8-8.5" wide...i hace ran 30x9.50's on 8" wheels but that is as narrow as i would go
