alright. my buddy knows someone selling four bfg mud terrains that he ran on his jeep for about a thousand miles two years ago. they have close to a hundred percent tread life left on them but there is a bit of dry rotting going on....you guys thing i should stay away from them? i dont do heavy offroading and rarely go. he is asking for 200 for all four and they are pretty close to 100 percent tread but im worried about the dry rot. i have yet to look at them though.

opinions?
would save me money from spending bout 1k on tires. Will they last through the summer?

If the dry rot is in the tread and not very bad I wouldn't worry, but if it is on the sidewall I would say no.

Seriously though, i wouldnt touch em. i only buy new tires for safety reasons. its not worth the savings to have a blow out on the freeway or get a flat out on the trail, etc.
