33x12.5R15 on Stock Ranger

Just wanted to let you guys know that 33x12.5R15s WILL fit a stock ranger with torsion bars and also fit onto our stock 15x7 wheels. I just put 4 LT33x12.5R15 Kumho Venture A/Ts on my 2011 Ranger sport 2wd. I did need to max out my front torsion bars to fit them but there is no rubbing whatsoever, even at maxed steering and a loaded bed. I researched a couple forums before buying and installing my tires and never got a straight answer whether this was possible. Now you know. Sorry about the pictures as they were taken with my phone.

**Also my stock 235/75R15 Goodyear Wrangler SRA's Are for sale. Only 8000 easy kms on them. $200 FIRM. Pickup in Cambridge, Ontario or Hamilton, Ontario.**

Cool story bro.

Looks good except the rims either need spacers behind them or get some with less backspacing... they just look too far in.. a straight on shot of the truck will make it look narrow. Glad you could make it work.... I wouldn't try to wheel it like that tho.

Sweet.

I've considered running some 33's on my stockers until my axle swap

Looks good... but I hope those tires have gotten better. I had a set on my old Ranger and hated them!

Maxed out torsion bars sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, just my two cents tho

Cranking out the torsion bars is going to give you a much stiffer ride. and while you can put a 12.5 inch wide tire on a 7 inch rim, doesn't mean you should. Most tire manufacturers will put a 12.5 inch tire on a 8 to 10 inch wide rim. the fact that you used the stock rims is in part why those fit.

The manufacturer says the rim width is 8.5-11 inches.

most places here will not let you put that size on that narrow of a rim due to the liability issue

I ran a set like that for a year and wheeled it and never had a problem.

you guys know i have been running 33's for like 3 years with slight tbar crank for over 3 years now... and i have plenty of tire hangin out. i dont think he will be wheelin much as his truck is 2wd. also in the ride department, i probly have a better ride than 80 percent of people on here. alot of the stiff ride is caused by the anti roll bar and by pulling one end link will greatly improve your ride, albeit you will have body roll, but lets face it there rangers not bmw's.

It's not a big deal. Alot of guys run 33s on no lift and alot of guys run 33s on stock wheels. Especially on FX4 Alcoas. Get some front spacers and you'll be golden.

To reply to some of the posts:
1) I dont wheel the truck. Its brand new. I just want the truck to look nice.
2) The manufactured also says dont run 245/75R15 as the suspension is engineered for 235/75R15 so obviously 33's arent recommended and the 15x7 will handle the tires just fine.
3) If i was worried about a stiff ride i would have bought a cadillac.

how do those not rub when you turn. just wait till you get some miles on it and the torsion bars settle in

Its got 11,000 kms on it. I cranked the torsion bars the second I pulled into the driveway when I picked it up from ford. But I think even when they settle it would be fine. Either way Ive ordered a 2" shackle kit for the rear and a PA 3" Bodylift so I wont know.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Even the criticism. The truck rides good and I would definitly recommend this setup to anyone who wants there stock ranger to look a little tougher without spending a bunch of $$$.

They have to rub on the swaybar. My 265 75s rubbed on stock wheels then I just pulled it off and sold it for scrap

Im pretty sure they dont have to because they dont?? Maybe its because its a brand new truck so the torsion bars are at there best and arent sagging. Or maybe the 2011 has a bigger wheel well. All I know is i have no rubbing.

Why is everyone insisting on trashing this guys setup? What difference does it make if they are stock rims or not? They fit, he can obviously drive it, he said it doesn't rub, so it doesn't rub.
